The last six months have been an incredible journey. My business has tripled across the board and the future is full of opportunities.
I’ve been blessed to add seven new coaching clients, several consulting clients, my blog is picking up traction and has tripled in growth, every week I’m contacted for new client opportunities and I’ve added new services.
First I am going to tell you how I got to this point, where I am going, and then who I am grateful for that you that you should connect with as well.
How Am I Achieving Success
In May 2014 I wrote my first blog article and immediately I began searching for influential bloggers to connect with. I am an extremely good offline networker and I decided early on that I was not going to focus on search engines and Google. Instead, I would focus on connecting with influencers over the long-term and develop relationships with them through their blogs and social media.
Regarding my own content, I decided to focus on content that would emphasis how one could be successful in online marketing for companies that are traditionally offline and who had given up on the internet or were deeply frustrated and startups who know they need to have an online presence but don’t know how to use the tool.
These companies experience failure online because of the core issues I reference often because they don’t do the hard work of learning their business, their customers and prospects and how to communicate to them in a way that focuses on the customer or prospect instead of themselves.
Many great companies make the mistake of talking about themselves and their product or services. Their websites are nothing more than brochures or catalogs and therefore are struggling online as a result.
The have essentially taken an offline mass marketing approach and applied it to an online world that is niched, personalized, and engaging and thus experiencing failure because they simply don’t understand how to use the online tools properly.
Back to networking as a concept online… how do I do it?
First I researched a few people who serve the same audience I do but in a different way; and I just started watching their blogs, engagement levels on their comments as well as their social media engagement.
Within a few weeks I began working to leave comments on their blogs.
As I did I began meeting more and more people who started also coming over to my blog. It wasn’t just the reciprocity from the bloggers but also their readers who started coming over to my blog and leaving comments.
We began following each other on Google Plus, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn where I began sharing their content with as good a review as possible after leaving comments on their blogs.
I got involved on:
Over a two month period I begin to experience growth and the following people became a staple of sites I visited regularly and began to develop a relationship with that has become a massive blessing that I’m thankful for!
These amazing bloggers include:
In addition to connecting with bloggers, I’ve also been very blessed to connect with many business owners on LinkedIn. When I share my blog in a LinkedIn group almost always I connect with 2 – 10 new people and a few have even become referral partners and friends.
The strategy since May has been to connect, grow and meet new people through 3 blog articles per week, marketing and promotion of the blog, and connecting with influential bloggers really engaging on social media.
This has been a great starting point for me and as much as it has helped me, it can help you as well!!!

This one is a bit easier. I will be joining the local chamber of commerce, attend networking events, apply to share or teach in Chamber Friday classes and fully navigate my way through the chamber.
I am also excited to be a part of my CORE Networking family in Rockville, MD (just outside of Washington D.C.) and there are several new opportunities that I cannot yet announce but it’s going to be exciting!!!!
Additionally, I am developing relationships with event coordinators and planners and earning new opportunities to speak across the U.S. So, if you know of anyone looking for a dynamic speaker, please consider making an introduction! (Click here to learn more and see some videos on my speaker page)
I have a lot of work in front of me as you can see. But, I’m so grateful to those who I’ve mentioned who have been a major blessing in helping me achieve my current of success to this point. Without you I would not be as far as I am.
As I prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family on Thursday, I am grateful for the opportunities and challenges ahead. It’s still hard to believe this time last year I was laying the foundation for this time in my life and business. I cannot express my full thanksgiving to those who have blessed me along the journey.
What are you thankful for as we celebrate Thanksgiving this week in the U.S.? Please a leave a comment below and share your story!!!!
