After two and half years of blogging, receiving numerous blogging awards, and meeting some amazing people along the way, I’ve determined that it’s no longer worth breaking through the noise and continue text blogging.
As with all things, one must constantly test, measure and evaluate what is working and what is not working.
Text blogging is no longer working in terms of generating conversions and sales for me.
But, what is working is video.
When I create videos there is an almost immediate response.
I get emails from people asking questions, and my reach is much higher on video than in text.
On Facebook, the reach is in the hundreds and in many cases the thousands on video, whereas a text or link may be in the dozens.
Traffic on my site increases significantly with video over text blogging, and more importantly the sales opportunities and conversions rise as well.
Perhaps it’s because people can both hear my message and they can feel my passion, which are key ingredients for sales.
Perhaps in ways text cannot do, it connects a real person and can quickly demonstrate ones competency, again in ways that text cannot.
People buy from people, and I am convinced that video creates a more personal way to connect than text.
As a result, I will be creating content that is video based over text based on unveiltheweb.com, and I’ll be creating it much more often, perhaps even daily.
Video is faster for me to create and for reasons I outlined in the video above, sales are much higher.
In addition, be on the lookout for interviews and all kinds of unique, fun and entertaining videos.
I will also be redesigning UnveilTheWeb to make it easier to consume the content we create.
Let me know your thoughts, I would love a spirited discussion around your opinions.
